200 Years Of Experience

26 June 2012

More than 200 years of experience with Costain was celebrated as the Company showed its gratitude to a group of long-serving staff.

Grovefield House Hotel, Burnham, was the setting for a special lunch to honour personnel who had completed 21 years with the Group.

The event saw the 11 staff receive certificates from Alan Kay, Managing Director, Environment, in which the Group’s directors expressed their congratulations and appreciation for the staff members’ dedication and service to the organisation.

Each received their certificate to the backdrop of a ‘This Is Your Life’-style presentation, added Alan. “We try to gather photographs of the recipients – either when they first joined the Company or from some amusing events that have occurred during their time here.

“We give a potted history of their careers, remind them of memorable projects on which they worked and hopefully uncover some anecdotes from people who worked with them.”

HR Director, Fiona Ware, said the annual lunch served a useful purpose: “It’s a celebration really, a celebration and recognition that people have been with the Company for that length of time.”

The staff honoured were:

Darren James, Managing Director Infrastructure; Dave Kellett, Senior Agent; David Midgley, Planner; Jean Verity, Administrator; Mark Huddart, Business Development Director; Michelle Eames, Business Development Manager; Nabil Abdo, Agent; Phil Davies, Project Manager; Sian Taylor, Executive Secretary; Stuart Curtis, SHE Advisor; and Vicki Cannon, Bought Ledger Clerk.
