Andrew Wyllie Receives CBE In New Year's Honours

5 January 2015

Andrew Wyllie, Costain’s Chief Executive, has been awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honours for services to construction and engineering.

A Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institution of Civil Engineers, Andrew’s drive and vision has been instrumental in transforming Costain into a Tier One engineering solutions provider, focusing on delivering innovative multi-disciplined solutions to meet the UK’s national needs in energy, water and transportation.

A former pupil of Dunfermline High School and a graduate of the University of Strathclyde, Andrew holds an MBA from the London Business School and is a Non-Executive Director of Scottish Water. He is also a member of the CBI Construction Council and a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute.

Prior to joining Costain as Chief Executive in 2005, Andrew worked for Taylor Woodrow where he was Managing Director of the construction business and was a member of the Group Executive Committee. He worked for several years on major contracts in Saudi Arabia, Ghana, the Falklands and Malaysia, as well as projects in the United Kingdom.

Commenting on his CBE, Andrew said: “I am deeply humbled to receive this award. It's a massive honour and huge testimony to the hard work of everyone at Costain, and a very good way to start a year in which Costain celebrates its 150th anniversary.”
