CEO in charity run

21 September 2011

Andrew Wyllie, the Costain Group Chief Executive, went from the Boardroom to the ‘starting line’ recently to raise money for charity.

He participated in the Great North Run, the world’s biggest half marathon, which starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields. Approximately 54,000 runners took part including top athletes from the UK and overseas.

Andrew ran to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and he recorded a personal best time of 1hr, 57 mins, 30 secs.

“It was hugely enjoyable and very worthwhile,” he said. “The Costain Group recently launched its Costain Cares initiative which is aimed at ensuring the Company adopts a responsible/sustainable approach to relationships with all stakeholders. It is vital that Companies support events such as the Great North Run as part of their Corporate Responsibility activities.”
