14 December 2017

Costain, the engineering group deploying technology-based solutions to meet national needs across the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures, has been appointed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) to provide consulting services as part of its Management Consultancy Framework.

The Management Consultancy Framework will run for four years and has been created to provide a compliant, cost-effective way for government to access consultancy advice across different sectors, from a wide range of suppliers.

Costain’s place on the framework will enable clients including government bodies, sub-national bodies and local authorities to procure the business’ consultancy services for a broad range of infrastructure schemes and projects.

The framework is split across seven lots, and has a total estimated value of between £2-3bn. Costain is one of a number of consultants that have been appointed to Lot 7 – Infrastructure, which is estimated to be worth c. £400m in total.

The elements of the infrastructure framework Costain will provide consultancy services on include:

• Vehicles and traffic: on the control, management and monitoring of vehicles and traffic.

• Transport – Aviation, Rail, and Road: on the planning and management of transport infrastructure.

• Energy and Utilities: on the provision of energy and utilities infrastructure, generation and recycling.

Costain has extensive experience in project management and the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
