Costain today announces its 2014 vision for Costain Cares, the long-term strategic initiative to build a more sustainable business and deliver tangible benefits for Company stakeholders.

The 2014 vision sets out ambitious targets that cover: health and safety, the development of employees, delivering the highest standards of service and sustainable solutions for customers, the responsible management of its supply chain, the support and contribution to the communities in which it serves and reducing the environmental impact of the work it undertakes.

Costain Cares aims to address further the developing needs of stakeholders, increasing the speed and scale of change towards a responsible business and, at the same time, enhance performance in every facet of Costain’s operations.

“The companies that adhere to a greater corporate and social responsibility will be the companies that thrive, and it is these companies that will also offer greater returns to shareholders and the communities they serve” said Catherine Warbrick, Costain’s Corporate Responsibly Director.

Catherine added: “Costain Cares is at the heart of what we do as a business, from building relationships with stakeholders, to securing new orders from major customers and to successfully delivering profitable solutions. In line with our focus of being more socially responsible, we have outlined a set of targets that aims to make a real contribution to our stakeholders and the communities we serve and I look forward to reporting on our progress.”
