Costain Wins Corporate Governance UK Award

Costain has won a Corporate Governance UK award from World Finance Magazine, a leading global financial publication, which recognised excellence in the quality of the Company’s level of disclosure and transparency.
Readers from a total of 39 countries were invited to vote for the company they thought warranted the accolade and a final winner was drawn from a shortlist of four by a panel of four judges chaired by the publication’s Editor, Alexander Redcliffe.
World Finance Magazine said Costain scored the most points across six categories, including governance structure, leadership, disclosure and transparency, to scoop the Best Corporate Governance UK award.
World Finance Magazine is a bi-monthly publication with a global audience of 120,000 readers drawn from the world of banking, Government and institutional and private investors.
Corporate Governance is a set of processes and policies affecting the way a company is directed and administered. It also includes the relationship among its many stakeholders, including shareholders, employers and customers.
Commenting on the award, Tony Bickerstaff, Costain’s Group Finance Director, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised by World Finance Magazine for this award, which is recognition of the importance placed on corporate governance in the Group.”
