Costain Wins Hydrochloric Acid Dosing Plant Construction Contract With Total E&P UK

Team Seeks Low-Carbon Supply Chain

Costain, one of the UK’s leading engineering solutions providers, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by Total E&P UK for construction of a Hydrochloric Acid Dosing Plant at the Shetland Gas Plant (SGP), including installation, tie-in, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support. This contract follows on from a previous award to Costain in June 2015 by Total for the provision of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for design, construction, installation and pre-commissioning of a Condensate Mercury Removal Unit (CMRU) and Subsea Control Unit (SCS) at the SGP in connection with its Edradour-Glenlivet Field Development.

The SGP project provides facilities for reception, processing and export of natural gas and its associated condensate, from Gas Condensate Fields, located to the West of Shetland, including Laggan, Tormore, Edradour and Glenlivet. Costain has been working successfully with Total across its various UK operations for more than 20 years, and is delighted to be selected as an EPC solution provider working on such a significant project for UK national energy supply.

Frazer McKay, Costain Oil & Gas Sector Director said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this additional scope at SGP. It demonstrates the value that Costain can add and the ongoing development of our relationship with Total. We look forward to integrating both projects at SGP to achieve a safe, successful and cost efficient delivery."
