Double Gold Awards For Costain Joint Venture

The Customer Liaison team from Brighton & Hove 4Delivery Ltd, a Costain joint venture project, recently attended the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Home Counties PRide Awards with Southern Water.

These prestigious awards recognise the most creative and effective public relations work from across the region and proved a resounding success for the team when it won two gold awards for its work on a controversial wastewater works in Sussex.

The awards for Crisis Communication and Best Community Relations saw the team praised for its “outstanding tactics, outputs and outcomes in this textbook case of how Brighton & Hove 4Delivery Ltd and client Southern Water through collaborative working turned the angry protests about ‘Poohaven’ into praise for ‘Peacehaven’."

James York, Costain’s Community Relations Manager, said of the awards: “These accolades demonstrate the significant value that community relations can add to a construction project, and the confidence that the client can have in knowing that we will responsibly manage their customers, our stakeholders, through the delivery of this highly complex and controversial scheme."

The team consisted of Madeline Stoneman, Southern Water’s PR Manager; John Awdry, Veolia Water’s Communications Manager; and James York, Costain’s Community Relations Manager.
