Highways Project Raises Funds For Charity

27 June 2014

One of Costain’s Highways projects has come up with a novel way of raising funds for charity.

The Hammersmith Flyover Project has produced pink safety hats for visitors to wear whilst on site and a donation is made to Breast Cancer Awareness each time.

Graham Dean, Community Relations and Security Manager, said: “We wanted to raise funds for this worthwhile charity so we ordered pink hats for our visitors and every time one is worn we donate £2.50 to the charity. This also has the benefit of our visitors being clearly visible whilst on site, so there is a very important safety reason behind this idea as well.”

The project has ordered 12 pink hats and the total money raised for charity has reached over £150.  The fundraising initiative will continue whilst the project is running, which is estimated to end in Summer 2015.
