Manchester And Teesside Teams Make Their Moves

8 September 2014

Costain’s move to its new Manchester and Teesside offices is now complete, heralding the start of an exciting new chapter for the Company's Natural Resources business.

The final staff to transfer to the new premises at 1500 Aviator Way on the Manchester Business Park made the move at the end of August, bringing the total number of staff and clients based at the site to around 450.

The newly refurbished 38,500 sq ft, three-storey office building is located just a ten-minute walk from Manchester Airport and provides a bright, modern working environment. Features include an Innovation Suite that contains the latest audio-visual technology such as projection systems and Interactive Feature Wall.  The Suite caters for large meetings and presentations and is designed to help develop more innovative ways of working.

The new building also features informal meeting spaces, break-out areas and a subsidised café.

“Our new building gives us a more open, flexible workspace that makes for a much better working environment,” said Fiona Ware, Engineering and Operations Director. “The open-plan layout and break-out areas have been designed to  encourage a much more collaborative style of working.

“Feedback from staff and visitors alike has been good, and the café is already proving very popular.”

Meanwhile the Engineering team in Teesside has just completed its move to a newly refurbished office twenty minutes from the two major Teesside hydrocarbon processing sites. The new office has seating capacity for more than 80 and facilities designed for highly interactive project execution.

“This notable step provides a platform from which Costain’s Teesside growth ambitions can be realised,” said Fiona. “The Teesside team is poised for exciting times at its front row location.”
