Safety Milestone For Promanex

29 November 2011

Promanex, Costain’s industrial services Company, has reached seven years and over half a million man hours without a Lost Time Accident at a UK Refinery.

The achievement represents a significant milestone in Promanex’s health and safety programme, which prides itself on achieving the highest level of safety in the workplace.

Promanex has worked on the site for over 20 years. Ian Tully, Divisional Manager, leads a 40-strong team that carries out civils and building maintenance work as well as supporting from within other parts of the Promanex business, the delivery of adhoc/project industrial specialised cleaning activities using tankers that are designed to handle hazardous waste material. Promanex also provides specialised industrial support services during T&I (Turnaround & Inspection) plant shutdowns which includes the provision of safety standby personnel.

Geoff Hunter, Civils and Industrial Services Director, said: “We are very proud of reaching seven years without a Lost Time Accident which reflects the commitment of our employees to working safely in complex and difficult working conditions. The commitment from every member of our team towards health and safety has been outstanding.”
