Costain, one of the UK’s top engineering solutions providers, working at Sellafield, has established its own charitable fund, which has now made its first grant.
 
Managed by the Cumbria Community Foundation, the Costain Fund provides grants to support projects that help improve the lives of people in West Cumbria by raising their aspirations and achievements.
 
Citizens Advice Allerdale was awarded £1,000 from the fund to support volunteer recruitment and training. The organisation is under increasing pressure from clients with debt and benefits problems, last year dealing with over 16,000 issues.
