Senior HR Appointment At Costain

Costain has recruited Christina Wade as its new Director of Human Resources.

Christina joins from Centrica, the FTSE100 energy Company, and will lead the Group's people strategies for the Company's near 2,300 employees.

She has more than 20 years experience in human resources, most recently as Head of Human Resources at Centrica's Corporate Centre, which was a high profile business unit within the Company. Christina was responsible for a range of people initiatives, including working with the Group Finance Director on a people strategy for Centrica’s entire Finance population, delivering a capability framework for improved talent and succession planning to support people in their careers.

Prior to this, Christina was Head of Human Resources at British Gas Services, within the Centrica Group.

Commenting on her appointment, Christina said: "I am very excited to be joining Costain as HR Director.  The organisation has a great heritage and reputation and I look forward to working with my colleagues.

“My aim is to provide the best opportunities for all of Costain’s employees and to maximise their talent and contribution to the business. This will come through increased dialogue with managers as well as greater employee engagement, which will provide real long-term benefits for our employees and customers.”

Christina holds a masters degree in social and political science from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma in personnel management from Leeds Metropolitan University. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
