Six Years Accident Free At Welsh Water

6 February 2013

The Costain team working on the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) Framework is celebrating after exceeding six years without a RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations). This remarkable milestone was reached on January 31 2013. The team boasts an Accident Frequency Rate of zero and has seen over 2.6 million manhours worked without a RIDDOR during this six year period.

John Madden, Framework Director, said: "It is a remarkable achievement to attain six years without a reportable accident. The Framework has an impressive safety record and the staff and supply chain continue to demonstrate an outstanding commitment to health and safety.”

He added: “The team works hard to promote numerous Health and Safety initiatives and continues to drive the CBS programme across all of the Framework projects."

The Framework intends to appropriately mark this milestone with all the Costain Framework staff and supply chain who have contributed to this superb safety achievement.
