The Costain 150 Challenge Begins

5 January 2015

January 2015 sees the commencement of the Costain 150 Challenge -  a major national fund-raising campaign to mark the Costain Group’s 150 year anniversary.

To help focus employee fund-raising for the campaign and to act as a significant grant funder, the Group has recently set up the Costain Charitable Foundation.

The Costain Charitable Foundation has now signed gift agreements with four national charities - the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Macmillan Cancer Support, youth charity The Prince’s Trust and Samaritans. A special signing ceremony was arranged attended by the CEOs of each national charity, and David Allvey (Chairman of the Costain Charitable Foundation and the Costain Group) and Andrew Wyllie (CEO of the Costain Group).

The target set is to raise £1 million during 2015 through a multitude of fund-raising events throughout this year in support of the Costain Charitable Foundation. The Costain Group, as a supporter of the Costain Charitable Foundation, will then match donations raised by employees throughout 2015 subject to a maximum amount. The total raised will then be split equally between the four charities.

Tracey Wood, a Trustee of the Charitable Foundation, said:

“The Costain corporate strategy is all about “Meeting National Needs”. We are primarily focused on providing solutions which enhance people’s lives whether this is on an engineering basis or, as with the Costain 150 Challenge, raising money and providing care for communities.”
