Recovering LPG from refinery gas in the UK
Costain consultants provided Conoco with a solution to recover LPG from the LPG-rich feed gas at their Humber refinery.

A Costain process design was used incorporating a turboexpander/compressor system to generate the necessary refrigeration by utilising the pressure energy available in the feed gas.
High liquids recovery is achieved with very low supplementary power input.
Following the concept phase, Costain was awarded the contract to carry the design forward through detailed design, module design and supply plus supervision/inspection of module construction for site delivery.
