Costain carried out a process design study for the evaluation of options for recovering LPG followed by a Front End design study. The solution developed uses over 60 equipment items and incorporates a cryogenic turbo-expander and refrigeration cycle to provide the recovery required.

Following the performance during front end design and the suitability of the solution developed, Costain was awarded a contract by ChevronTexaco for the detailed design, procurement, project management and construction management of a Fuel Gas LPG Recovery Plant at its refinery.
