David on the importance of the right training method
Many people see the mechanism of putting people through training as the solution to the problem. David believes that the training is only one part of the solution and it is vital to understand how the theory will relate to that person, team and business in practice. His approach is to understand the organisation and deliver the training in context in terms of what clients are trying to achieve – a focus on the outcomes.
The biggest challenge for the world of project controls
The challenge is that no two organisations are the same - structurally, behaviourally, culturally. The principles of project control are universal however how we fit those principles to each organisation (or the organisation they want to become) is key. Organisations need to be clear on what they want to implement – make sure it is appropriate and have a clear vision and organisational commitment. Above all, communicate!
David's biggest professional achievement
David's biggest achievement is the BAE Systems Control Account Manager training. Over a period of two years he delivered standard and contextualised training on numerous BAE Systems sites including Saudi Arabia to over 1000 delegates with consistently high feedback.
