About Kevin

In what he describes as the most exciting time for UK infrastructure since the first industrial revolution, director for internet of things and digital twin, Kevin Reeves, is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our industry. Following a career in industrial automation where he designed, developed and commissioned complex control systems to automate industrial processes, the keen mountain biker has turned his attention to Costain’s digital transformation activities. Kevin is an Honorary Research Fellow with Warwick Manufacturing Group and a member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology and the Association for Project Management.

How Kevin is working towards embedding digital technologies across infrastructure

Kevin has been involved with the National Digital Twin programme since 2018 working with the Centre for Digital Built Britain, universities and industry partners to help shape the future for UK infrastructure. This includes encouraging collaboration within major infrastructure programmes and kick starting new initiatives such as the Digital Twin of the Natural Environment, leading the way in collaborative approaches to digital transformation across government, academia and industry.

In 2020 Kevin was asked to join industry digital leaders Dr Anne Kemp OBE and Mark Enzer OBE to head the new Digital Network established as a key part of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Task Force Group. The Digital Network is tasked by the CLC with facilitating and accelerating digital transformation in the UK’s built environment, with the aim of improving industry performance and export potential.
