Engaging effectively with our people is crucial to the success of Costain's business.

The views of our employees are extremely important to us. We want our people to feel valued, listened to and rewarded. 

We maintain a strong communication network and people are encouraged to discuss matters of interest and issues affecting the day-to-day operations of the Group with management. Employees are kept informed of the financial and economic factors affecting the Company’s performance, and other matters of concern to them as employees, in various ways. These include regular updates from the Chief Executive and other senior managers, a Costain online news service, personal briefings and emails. Senior managers also visit sites and discuss with employees matters of current interest and concern to them and the business.

Our people also have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions at the annual staff roadshows which take place around the country. In addition, our established Engagement Focus Group meets three times a year, as well as on an ad hoc basis, to discuss matters impacting the business, so that the views of employees can be taken into account in decisions that are likely to affect their interests.
