Branded The Best

7 December 2010

The Costain Group is one of Britain's 'most admired' construction companies according to a major new survey.

Management Today magazine has published its annual 'Most Admired Companies' league table which finds out which companies are admired by top executives throughout the land.

In the Heavy Construction league, Costain moved into second place (last year 4th) with Balfour Beatty occupying number one position. Costain was ahead of Kier, Keller, Galliford Try, Morgan Sindall, Henry Boot, T Clarke and MJ Gleeson.

Overall, in the 'Most Admired' companies league table comprising 230 well known names, Costain was placed 93rd equal with AMEC. The Company was placed 88th the previous year and the slight fall no doubt reflected this year's headlines about how spending cuts would affect the construction industry.

However, Costain's placing in the top 100 put it ahead of some of the nation's best known names including Severn Trent, Legal and General Group, William Hill, Investec, Standard Life, BT Group, Taylor Wimpey and Abbey.
