Celebrating Five Safe Years At Welsh Water

16 February 2012

The Costain Team, working on the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) Framework, is celebrating again after exceeding five years without a RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations).

This remarkable milestone was reached recently and has seen over 2.2 million manhours worked without a RIDDOR over the five years.

John Madden, Framework Director said: "To reach the five year mark without a reportable accident is a wonderful achievement for the whole team. Our impressive safety record highlights the continued commitment to health and safety by all Costain staff on the Framework and throughout our supply chain”.

The team continues to promote safety awareness through numerous incentive schemes across its projects. John goes on to say: “However, continual focus has to be applied in order to maintain this record and this year Costain Behavioural Safety (CBS) will remain the primary initiative to aid the Framework’s drive for continual improvement”.

The Framework intends to appropriately mark this milestone with all the Costain Framework staff and supply chain who have contributed to this superb safety achievement.
