Costain has been awarded an extension to its asset support contract with Centrica in the Irish Sea.

The joint venture company Costain Petrofac Limited (CPL), has delivered engineering, project and construction management services to support the Morecambe Bay and Barrow Terminal assets since 2004. The CPL project team is embedded at Centrica’s Heysham support base working alongside the client’s team.

Charles Sweeney, MD Costain Energy & Process, commented: “Costain is pleased to extend our relationship with Petrofac, and so enable Centrica to sustain value from the Morecambe and Barrow assets by the application of our engineering expertise.”

Frank Millar, Costain Hydrocarbons & Chemicals Sector Director, added: “Costain and Petrofac have been providing asset support to Centrica’s East Irish Sea asset for seven years and we are pleased to receive this extension, which allows us to support our customer as they develop the future strategy for the East Irish Sea region and its assets.”
