Coronavirus situation update

Dear clients and partners,

With the news being dominated by the impact of COVID-19, we would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation, following UK Government guidelines and ensuring our colleagues are up to date with the latest information.

We have robust, regularly tested business continuity procedures in place to cover all aspects of our operations in a scenario such as this.  We are prepared to take quick action to deal with this situation as it changes and have formed a Coronavirus Steering Group which is guiding our response.

We have taken the following actions:

Health and wellbeing
- We are providing clear guidance and expectations for our people
- We have implemented measures to safeguard their health and well-being, including increased cleaning regimes and practices for the handling of food and beverages
- In line with our drive to be ‘digital by default’, we have put together clear guidelines regarding travel, meetings and virtual working
- We are strictly following UK Government guidelines with relation to dealing with symptoms
- We have put in place a reporting procedure so we can assess how this is impacting our people.

Operational resilience and responsiveness
- We are continuously reviewing our supply chain to assess the availability of materials
- We have robust IT infrastructure in place to enable remote working
- All parts of our company are actively reviewing business continuity plans alongside our partners and clients
- Contract leaders are implementing business continuity actions to ensure the continued delivery of our contracts.

If you have any questions or if there is any way in which we can offer you any assistance,  please contact us via your usual Costain contacts in the first instance.

We look forward to continuing to work with you to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our people while maintaining our operations in the best way we can.
