Costain GSD Awarded Framework

24 May 2011

Costain’s Geotechnical Services Division* (GSD) has been successfully awarded one of five places on the National Site Investigation Framework (NSIF3) for the Environment Agency (EA).  The duration of NSIF3 is a period of 4 years commencing on 4 April 2011, with an estimated value of £5million.

Due to the rigorous procurement process used by the EA to award this framework, this contract award has the potential to provide Costain GSD with other opportunities outside the EA, such as the Highways Agency and other Government bodies including local councils.

Commenting on the award, Andy Bull, Environmental Services Director, said: “This is a fantastic result.  Securing a framework agreement direct with a blue chip client such as the Environment Agency is a great reflection of where GSD as a division has got to, and is representative of the kind of work we want to be doing in the future.”

*Costain GSD provides a one-stop facility for geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation, in-situ materials testing and geotechnical and materials laboratory testing. Our clients include numerous engineering consultants, specialist geo-environmental consultants, infrastructure and utilities operators as well as the Costain Group.
