Costain launches its inclusion strategy

10 June 2019

Today, Costain launches its 2019 inclusion strategy.

The new “Inclusion at Costain” strategy builds on previous work around equality, diversity and inclusion and sets out the actions Costain will take over the next five years to achieve its ultimate goal of having a workforce that is truly representative of society.

Alex Vaughan, chief executive officer at Costain, commented, “As a company we are fully committed to creating a great place to work, where everyone can be at their best, every day. A workplace where everyone can be their true self and feel valued and understood for who they are and what makes them unique.”

As part of its inclusion strategy, Costain has introduced four employee networks which provide support and guidance. These include a REACH(Religion, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage), Women’s, LGBT+ and allies  and parenting and carers network.

Sophie Sharpe, chair of LGBT+ and allies network commented, “I am privileged to work with a passionate and dedicated team of network volunteers and colleagues, where together we are on a mission to improve people’s lives by creating an inclusive workplace for everyone, where people can be themselves and fulfil their full potential both personally and professionally.”
