Costain’s Lawrence Webb elected vice president of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

Safety, health and environment strategy director, Lawrence Webb takes his place on the presidential team of IOSH.

During his three-year tenure as vice president he will be an ambassador for IOSH and support the delivery of its current five-year strategy, WORK 2022 and beyond.

This future looking plan will help IOSH shape the future of health and safety by enhancing, collaborating and influencing across its 47,000 members and numerous stakeholders across industry.

Lawrence joins a small number of other vice presidents who will play an essential role in supporting the current president and president elect in their leadership roles.

“This role is an honour. To be able to work and influence at such a level and on a global basis on behalf of IOSH, its membership and the safety and health profession is a fantastic opportunity. The IOSH vision is simple: a safe and healthy world of work aligning perfectly with Costain’s own intent which focuses on eliminating harm and securing an environment where we can be at our best. I am looking forward to playing my part in the delivery of the WORK 2022 strategy, “said Lawrence.

Founded in 1945 and with registered charity status, a Royal Charter was granted to IOSH in 2002 and it is now the largest membership organisation for safety and health professionals, acting as a champion, adviser, advocate and trainer for health and safety professionals working in organisations of all shapes and sizes, in around 130 countries. IOSH is focussed on the of support members to creating workplaces that are safer, healthier and more sustainable way.
