Healthy Heart Campaign In October

11 September 2013

Costain’s current drive to improve the health & wellbeing of its workforce will be accelerating during October with a week-long company-wide campaign focussing on how to maintain a healthy heart.

Heart disease kills more people in the UK than any other disease. The campaign will be run during week commencing 14 October and there will be a specific theme for each day, including diet, exercise, alcohol levels and how to recognise the signs of a heart attack.

Posters and fact sheets have been produced to support the campaign which will highlight simple changes we can all make to our lifestyle to help us maintain a healthy heart.

“The health of our workforce is very important to us and has formed an integral part of our Costain Cares initiative”, said Veronica Robins, Costain's Health & Wellbeing Manager. “I do hope that all staff will take advantage of the campaign and attend the short presentations that will be held each day."

The sessions are optional but will provide everyone with the opportunity to find out ways in which they can improve the health of themselves and their loved ones.

The healthy heart campaign will be the latest in a number of wellbeing initiatives implemented over the last four years and the second of 2013.  The first initiative of the year was the Costain Pedometer Challenge, aimed at encouraging the workforce to become active in a fun and sociable way.
