ICE Conference Engineering Underground Space 2015

Costain’s Andy Mooney, civil engineering Project Manager for Crossrail’s Paddington station, was among the speakers at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Conference - Engineering Underground Space - recently.

Andy presented along with Crossrail’s Richard Crathern, Project Manager on the complexities of the Paddington station build. The conference took place at the ICE in Westminster and was attended by engineers and planners from across the industry. The focus of the conference was developing strategies for underground space use and in particular around the use of innovative technology and methods to improve the sustainability of underground infrastructure.

Andy’s presentation gave an insight to the top down construction techniques used at the Crossrail Paddington Station, focusing on how the team developed innovative and intelligent solutions to deliver on programme, quality and safety.
