New Development Role For Bowen

21 November 2013

Newly-appointed Corporate Development Director, Tim Bowen, is gearing up for his new role as he prepares to move back to the UK from his current position as Regional Development Director for the Middle East.

Despite the change of location, however, he will continue to be responsible for searching out new work in the Persian  Gulf and says that prospects there are looking promising.

Whereas Costain is a very well-known name in the region’s construction sector, having undertaken several major infrastructure projects such as Dubai Airport and what was then the world’s largest dry dock in the emirate, its search for new work now revolves around consultancy and advisory commissions.

Costain also continues its long-running and successful relationship with state petrochemical organisations in Abu Dhabi, where increasingly high-value process engineering commissions are becoming the norm.

“We’re moving towards the professional services side and getting lots of opportunities,  both in the UAE and in Qatar," said Tim.  "What is important now is that we select and develop the right ones with the best customers that most value the services that we bring.

“I am also delighted to be returning to the UK to lead our wider Group strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions activities.   Our strategic plans are established and make perfect business and operational sense.  I now look forward to working with our industry-leading sector teams to urgently turn these plans into reality for the benefit of all of our stakeholders.”
