Costain has been awarded the highest rating for the support it provides for its accountants both before and after they qualify in the profession by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The organisation has ranked Costain as a Premier Partner for both Quality Training and Development.

“It confirms that we support trainees and also those who have passed their examinations and are undertaking further development in their careers,” said Commercial Financial Controller, Debra Costello.

It is the second such award received by the Group in rapid succession from an accountancy body; in October, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) also bestowed its Approved Trainee Development Employer accreditation on Costain.

 “The CIMA accreditation demonstrates that we have proved that we have a clear policy for learning and continued development, commit financial resources to supporting our trainees through their studies and examinations and provide a structured and supportive environment in which both our students and qualified accountants can take responsibility for their own training and practical experience,” said Debra.

“One of the benefits for the Group is that this accreditation will help us to continue to recruit and retain the best finance professionals.”
