Cryogenic hydrogen recovery from ethylene plant
Costain provided a design for a cryogenic cold box to process the overhead stream from a demethaniser of an ethylene plant in China in order to produce hydrogen rich gas.

Costain developed a design solution which makes use of two stage condensation and utilises Joules-Thomson cooling techniques. Careful process integration enabled a simple cold box design which met the client's requirements.
Following the generation of a conceptual design, Costain was awarded the contract for detailed design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning supervision of the cold box in Beijing, China.
