Integration of new unit

into existing site layout

Costain developed the concept and carried out front end engineering design, which comprised:

  • The development of a UOP schedule A package. Work included procurement of long lead items, generation of project sanction estimate, HAZOP studies, development of layouts and generation of construction philosophies
  • The development of the integration of the new unit into the existing refinery such that tie-ins could be made at the next shutdown
  • Detailing of offsite modification to enable reallocation of tankage and pumping facilities
  • Detailing of offsite facilities to enable online blending of gasoline

Following the completion of the front-end engineering design, Costain was awarded a contract for the execution of the detail design, procurement services and construction management for the implementation of the project.
