Underground Gas Storage Brine and Water Treatment

The Stublach gas storage facility accepts natural gas from the NTS during periods of low demand, which is withdrawn during high demand. Costain consultants were engaged to provide a solution for brine, water and nitrogen handling.

The solution developed by Costain included the use of 10 wellsites as well as a solution mining compound. Due to the excellent solution developed during the FEED, Costain was awarded the contract to carry out all detailed engineering and design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Phase 1 - Brine and Water Infrastructure.

Costain was subsequently awarded a contract for the FEED for the gas plant associated with the Stublach facility.
