Premier Oil contracted Costain to develop a subsea technical solution to support the FPSO option for the Huntington Field development. Premier Oil requested maximum possible use of existing Premier Oil stock equipment.
Costain was the lead contractor and managed specialist flow assurance and pipeline engineering contractors. We were able to provide a technical solution with a high level of technical definition in a very short timescale. This facilitated accurate cost and schedule definition and supported the decision to select an FPSO as the development option.
We identified that a large quantity of stock equipment was fit for purpose and could be utilised.
This development option reduced the development CAPEX, the long lead procurement requirements and project risk.
Costain co-ordinated the entire proposal for the client, ensuring that the flow assurance and facilities engineering work integrated with the client’s subsurface model.
As a result of the work carried out by Costain’s upstream consultancy team, Premier Oil was able to present a coherent and robust solution to its partners.
