Paddington Milestone Reached

19 February 2014

Costain Skanska joint venture, principal contractor on Crossrail’s new Paddington station, has recently handed back a major west London road as construction moves to the next phase.

Eastbourne Terrace was closed in February 2012 to pave the way for the construction of the new station, which involved major piling works.

“The road reopening sees the culmination of two years' hard work constructing the station structure and rebuilding Eastbourne Terrace,” said Project Director, Dr Vicknayson Thevendran. “In the two years since construction begun, over 2,600 people have been inducted to the project and we are currently 750,000 hours without a reportable accident.”
