Costain’s Industrial Cooling Division has received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) President’s Award for consistently demonstrating exceptional levels of health and safety performance over the past decade.

This prestigious award is given to teams or organisations which have achieved at least 10 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards.

Costain’s Industrial Cooling team support the Power Sector and work in both difficult and diverse areas of operations assisting key national companies in providing essential services all over the UK.

Securing a RoSPA Gold Award is based on an organisation's individual occupational health and safety performance assessed against the judging criteria. Winning gold means that a project or team has achieved a very high level of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

Entrants must provide comprehensive evidence of a good health and safety management system by answering key performance questions and supporting the answers with a concise portfolio of relevant documentation. 

Commenting on the award, Mark Blackham, Operations Director, and his Regional Managers, Bill Robinson and Mark Raw, all said they are immensely proud of this achievement and look forward to another successful and ‘safe’ year.

The team have continually worked hard to both achieve and maintain the standard required for ROSPA recognition and coupled with the fact that it is predominantly a framework contract delivering up to 400 plus contracts in any one year makes the achievement even more rewarding.”
