- Advisory and engineering role will help the highways network drive economic growth, improve safety and reliability, and further the UK’s decarbonisation goals
Costain, the infrastructure solutions company, has been chosen as one of six suppliers by National Highways for its new Specialist Professional and Technical Services Framework (SPaTS3).
Building on the foundations laid under the SPaTS2 framework, which Costain was previously selected for, the SPaTS3 Framework has an estimated maximum value of up to £495m to the six suppliers over its six-year term and will cover the whole of Roads Investment Strategy 3 (2026 – 2031).
Working in close collaboration with the other suppliers and National Highways, Costain will support strategic objectives including the delivery of a road network which drives economic growth, improves safety and reliability, and furthers the UK’s decarbonisation goals.
Costain and its extended supply chain will provide a range of specialist technical engineering advice services to National Highways, including engineering, electric vehicle infrastructure, health, safety and the environment. Its team of experts will draw on Costain’s previous framework experience and capabilities as a leader in providing predictable, best-in-class solutions to enhance the UK’s critical infrastructure.
“This appointment is testament to our strong relationship with National Highways and a recognition of Costain as a trusted advisor with deep in-house engineering capabilities.
Ann-Marie Morrison Roads sector director at Costain
Together, we’ll help create a more resilient road network for the UK that connects businesses and communities, drives economic prosperity, improves people’s lives and leaves behind a positive environmental legacy.”
