Costain has experience of a range of carbon capture technologies, particularly low temperature separation, and is continuing to develop innovative processes. The unusual physical behaviour of high pressure CO₂ is a particular consideration in the design of systems for carbon capture, usage and storage.
Costain is providing front end engineering on two projects to advance the use of hydrogen in Wales. The HYDERUS project is investigating a localised hydrogen production and combined heat and power system, and the Hy-Value project will convert sewage-derived biogas into hydrogen to provide clean energy to South Wales.
Dave is passionate about accelerating the transition to a decarbonised energy market and, recognising Costain’s significant track record across the full life cycle in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen, is initiating the deployment of deep decarbonisation.
Lead process engineer Syla Clarke is passionate about applying her key skills in process engineering and project management to help Costain accelerate the UK towards a carbon neutral future as part of the company’s climate change action plan.
