Charity Bike Ride

7 June 2011

A team from Costain’s Lewisham Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project is taking part in the London to Brighton bike ride for charity this month.

Eight riders will compete in the charity cycling event, organised by the British Heart Foundation*, on 19 June.  The event starts in London's Clapham Common and comprises a testing 54 miles, along the A23, finishing in Madeira Drive, on the south east coast.

Ian Dixon, Commercial Manager on the project said: “We competed in the event last year and after our past fund-raising success we have decided to participate again.

“It took me four 1/2 hours to complete the course last year and we are all aiming to break the four hour mark this time.”

Ian will be joined by seven team members: Steve Jakes, Sean Chipchase, Dan Rennison, James Aitken, Matt Cook, Emma Laverty and Dan Tain of Pinsent Masons. “We raised over £4,000 last year and we would love to exceed that amount this time,” said Ian.
