Costain JV Reaches Safety Milestone

10 October 2012

GCA, a joint venture between Costain, Galliford Try and Atkins, has achieved 2 million man-hours RIDDOR free while working with United Utilities.

The timeframe is the equivalent to 1000 accident free days and represents a significant milestone for the GCA team which has worked with United Utilities since 2005 to deliver the AMP4 Southern Area Programme of Works. Now in its seventh year, the team is currently working on AMP5 which covers the period 1 April 2010 through to 31 March 2015.

Commenting on GCA’s safety record, Graham Keegan, Costain’s Water Sector Director, said: “Achieving the highest standards of health and safety is a top priority at Costain and the GCA framework has adopted many of the policies, principles and guidelines that Costain has developed to ensure the safety of all stakeholders. We are therefore delighted to have achieved this significant safety milestone while working with United Utilities.”
