Five Golden Years
10 May 2011
The Costain team working on the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water Framework is celebrating after being awarded a RoSPA gold medal having achieved five consecutive RoSPA Gold Health and Safety Awards in 2011.
The gold medal will be presented to Costain representatives at the annual awards ceremony held at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel on 18 May.
The awards scheme recognises the good health and safety management systems that organisations have in place, including important practices such as strong leadership and work force involvement.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, said: “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. The Costain team at Welsh Water has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”
John Madden, Framework Director, said: “Achieving the Gold RoSPA Health and Safety Award for the fifth consecutive year is a fantastic achievement. The award recognises the continued effort of all the employees working on the Framework who are continually working to achieve the highest standards of Health and Safety across our projects. My immense thanks go out to all involved in this notable success and I look forward to maintaining the standard we have set again next year.”
