Costain appointed to Yorkshire Water’s Technical Services Framework
Costain, the smart infrastructure solutions company, has been appointed onto Yorkshire Water’s £51.4m Technical Services Framework to drive efficient transformation and optimisation of its water and wastewater assets during the first four years of AMP7, with the possibility for a two year extension to the end of the first year of AMP8 (April 2026).

Costain to help Bradford Council reduce cost and carbon with smart street lighting project and strategic delivery plan for regeneration projects
Costain, the smart infrastructure solutions company, has won a £2m consultancy programme management contract to deliver Bradford Council’s Smart Street Lighting project, which will involve the replacement of 59,000 lights and 17,000 lampposts across the city over a period of four years.

Costain begins work on autonomous vehicle trial route
Costain has begun installing smart infrastructure on the 300km Midlands Future Mobility test environment. Spanning from Coventry to Birmingham the route will be set to trial connected and autonomous vehicles with a view to making UK roads safer and allowing for more predictable goods delivery and journey times.

Update on Contracts – High Speed 2 and Highways England
Costain confirms that its joint venture company, Skanska Costain Strabag, (“SCSJV”) has been granted notice to proceed by High Speed Two (HS2) Limited (“HS2”) to commence full detailed design and construction of Phase 1 of the HS2 railway in area south as part of the Main Works Civils Contract. Separately, Costain has been awarded a £210 million design and build contract by Highways England to upgrade an existing section of the A30 north of Truro, Cornwall.
